Verification

Verification is the confirmation of eligibility for free and reduced-priced school meals. It is only required when eligibility is determined through the application process. It does not include a confirmation of eligibility determined through direct certification.

The Verification Collection Report (FNS-742) must be completed and submitted to the state agency via the School Nutrition Online (SNO) portal by the last operating day in December. All School Food Authorities (SFAs) must complete and submit the report, even if the SFA does not conduct verification.
